purple garlic, sinnamahone garlic, pink

As I said in a previous post, I received two bags of garlic from Baker Creek. I previously reviewed Inchelium garlic, now it's time to talk about the flavor of Sinnamahome garlic. The flavor of Sinnamahone Garlic is way better than imitation garlic at the grocery store- elephant garlic, and because I grew it organically it was much more easily digestible, no bleach or dioxins, or nerve damaging chemicals. But, this one did have enough heat to it that I needed to cook it so it didn't give me heart burn.

This is the most beautiful garlic I've ever seen the bulb wrapping has a touch of purple but the cloves husks are, well you can see it in the pic above. Shiny..pink...purple....

The flavor is amazing though not as good as Inchelium garlic. There isn't enough sweet garlic flavor to balance it out in my opinion. However, once cooked it really shines. They make great garlic fries. The best I have ever had. I would recommend growing this type of garlic for that reason alone. So next time you find a real clove start a container garden and you'll harvest gourmet garlic before you know it.
